Elegant Linear Hand Tie's

What I Used

Sundries

1 glass vase 12" tall / 1 glass vase 8" tall

How I Made This

Strip all stems that will fall bellow the water line so the water is not contaminated, (this is the same for all hand tied designs).

Start by putting the twigs in your hand, now place the other flowers into your hand starting with the tallest first. For this design, stems must NOT spiral, it is important all stems stay parallel to the first stem of the hand tied.

Next, add the anthuriums graduating down toward your hand at different levels. Add the oak and then the lily grass for movement.

As you graduate down toward your hand, you should have about 8 different levels for your eye to trace.

Finish with the of the monstera leaves and add the bear grass under the leaves leaving it long.

Repeat this again for the second hand tied using the remaining stems making the overall design about half the height of the first.

Now for the fun bit, join the long bear grass of each design together binding with decorative wire.

When finished, place both designs in their respective vases and fill the vases with colour co-ordinating gel.

Design Suitability

Traditionally this design is for a mother and new born. The bound grass represents the umbilical; two gifts one for mum and one for baby.

An all-round good designer piece for gift or display.
