What I Used
- Any flowers that suit the
- Size of your pail/basket, I used A chrysanth bloom / 1 celosia
- 1 chrysanth spray / Chinese lanterns
- Apples
- Mixed foliages - salal, / cotinus / mint
Sundries
- Wooden pail
- Water retaining foam
- Jute for securing the foam
- Apples
- Green bullion wire
How I Made This
Soak the foam in a water and flower food solution. Place firmly in the container so just 2 cm of foam are above the edge.
Next place foliages low into the foam making sure they are inserted at least 2 cm deep.
(When placing flowers or foliage into an arrangement, it is always best to make sure they dip down a little towards the base of the container to give a complete look to your design. This is creating harmony with container and flowers.)
Now the flowers are added. Place the one large flower low in the centre of the design, place the celosia next to the largest flower, so no matter which angle you look at the design they'll be something of interest to look at.
Next cut all the sprays off the main stem of the chrysanth spray and place them around the edges of the arrangement.
Now add the fruit. I put the apples onto kebab skewers and placed them either side of the main flowers.
The Chinese lanterns edge the design giving the idea of them hanging down like "lanterns".
To finish I added a little lime green bullion wire to give a more creative touch.
